Late, late Saturday night, I had a unique opportunity to join a group of Michigan State University professors who collaborated with The FPT School of Business to provide an advanced educational conference to students in Vietnam.
At the end of this muit-week program, the students will receive an international certificate in Customer Experience Management (CXM).
Six of the 15 MSU CXM Faculty constructed a compressed version of what we teach in the Masters of Science program back home.
I can't tell you how impressed I was with the critical thinking, intense focus, and thirst for knowledge of every participant.
Through the use of interpreters, we were able to lecture and engage students in Hanoi and Ho Chi Min City; each of us for a 3.5 hour session.
While we have many differences (included the time zone difference), we have more in common than I even thought.
My biggest take away is how the Vietnamese people are incredibly polite and respectful.
Part of my personal mission is to improve experiences for everyone because I believe, by doing so, we can make the world a better place.
It gives me a special satisfaction to share knowledge with people who are so grateful to receive it. The Vietnamese are a kind-hearted people with a strong desire to serve. It's an honor as a American, to serve them and appreciate both our similarities and our differences.
